Sheet Metal Unlimited Industrial Designer
Sheet Metal Unlimited, located in Stuart, FL is looking for an Industrial Designer to join our team of loyal, committed people. You will consult with engineering, marketing, and sales representatives to establish design concepts.
Your Primary objective will be new product development and improvement of existing products from concept sketches to control drawings based on factors such as appealing appearance, design-function relationships, serviceability, application, budget and client specifications. Integrates findings and concepts and sketches design ideas. Able to meet all deadlines and consistently achieve quick turnarounds in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment. Proficiency in illustrating is a must. Must work well in a team environment.
Generate documentation necessary to convey design concept and/or solution to management during development process through renderings/sketches, detailed drawing, illustrations, models and/or mechanical drawings. Help maintain quality standards throughout product development process while improving products.
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Drafting & design of sheet metal & machined components
· Improve aesthetics and usability of products
· Control Drawings
Experience and skill requirements:
· BS degree in Industrial Design (beneficial not essential)
· 3+ years experience in the area of industrial design, manufacturing and a core understanding of a quality piece of hardware.
· Hands on experience in sketch, design and mock-up of ideas .
· Proficiency in 2D and 3D visualization skills
· Proficiency in 3D CAD or AutoCad tools (Pro-E, Solidworks, AutoCad, etc..)
· Working knowledge of materials and processes for measurement instruments
· Demonstrated project and time management skills
· Ability to clearly present concepts to creative team to ensure marketing objectives are being met
· Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills
· Must be well organized and detail oriented with creative and good skills in conceptual thinking.
· Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.
· Pro-active interaction mindset and a team player

This entity was born out the growth of Waterblasting Technologies who in a very short time has assumed the Global lead in the manufacturing of specialized vehicles that remove rubber from runways and paint markings from highways and runways. · Searching for an innovative Executive with (at least) 15 years proven expertise running and growing a Sheet Metal business. Must have a combination of savvy business, sales and technical skills. Looking for a leader to establish strategic corporate objectives and to rapidly resolve pressing business issues to help build a world class organization.
· Must be able to jumpstart client business development & operations improvements by identifying issues, quickly evaluating all aspects of the organization and delivering innovative solutions. Must have the ability to develop strategic vision for transformation, restructuring, and problem solving.
· Must have Marketing & Sales experience & strategies for revenue growth.
· Must have 15 of years experience in manufacturing operations involving sheet metal.
· Must have 10 of years in management or supervisory role.
· Responsibilities also to include (But not limited to):
o Plan the production schedule within the budgetary limitations and time constraints.
o Analyze personnel and capital resources and select the best way to meet production and financial goals.
o Establish and maintain product standards/ product improvement.
o Be responsible for all projects.
o Act as advisor to all staff members to meet schedules or resolve technical or operational problems.
o Administer schedules and performance standards.
· Will work closely with the CEO and CFO of the parent organization, Waterblasting Technologies.
· Educational requirements - BS in Business or Finance preferred.
